About You

You’ll hold an approved Steiner Waldorf Teaching Qualification, or QTS/PGCE, or have equivalent teaching experience in a Steiner school setting. You’ll bring at least two years of proven, successful teaching experience in a school or similar environment, along with a strong background in supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) - including planning and delivering interventions, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’re able to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues, pupils and families. You’ll bring a collaborative, supportive approach, and a genuine interest in Steiner Waldorf education, with a commitment to the ethos and values of the School.

As part of this role, you’ll also benefit from access to the Waldorf UK network of Additional Learning Needs Coordinators, offering professional support and resources tailored specifically to Steiner schools.

We offer a tiered Staff Fee Discount Scheme, providing up to 85% off school fees for staff children, depending on family income (pro rata for part-time roles).

About Us

Located in the heart of Wales’ vibrant capital, Cardiff Steiner School offers a full Kindergarten to Class 12 Steiner Waldorf education. Founded in 1997 as a successful Kindergarten, we expanded into Lower School in 2012 and launched our Upper School in 2017. In 2021, our first Class 12 students graduated with the New Zealand Certificate of Steiner Education (NZCSE) a fully accredited, transnational qualification equivalent to A Levels and recognised by UCAS and universities world-wide

We are a small, purposeful school by design - with a warm, inclusive community, committed families, and a collaborative, international teaching team. Our teaching team includes specialists in Bothmer, Eurythmy, Handwork, Music, Craft, Games, Spanish, and Upper School subjects.

At Cardiff Steiner School, you’ll be part of a pioneering and supportive team that embraces both the challenges and rewards of a growing, dynamic school. We offer a rich programme of professional development, including mentoring, peer observation, a strong culture of shared learning, and network support from our family of UK Steiner Schools.

Our teachers are at the heart of our success and we have developed a strong culture of collaboration where staff are valued and your input, enthusiasm and talents will be welcomed and appreciated.

We are a Waldorf UK full member School, and are fully independent.
